Frequently Asked Questions For Horse Owners

Hello everyone,

Here are a few frequently asked questions and responses accordingly:

1Q-What types of boarding options do you offer?
1A- We offer full and rough boarding options; and we are open to accommodate ‘half’ board situations. [The Farm and boarder will share horses basic daily care on a monthly basis.]

2Q-What are the barn hours?
2A- Barn hours as listed:
Sunday 6AM-8:30PM Monday 6AM-8:30PM Tuesday 6AM-8:30PM Wednesday 6AM-8:30PM Thursday 6AM-8:30PM Friday 6AM-10PM Saturday 6AM-10PM *Emergencies trump barn hours*

3Q- How long are horses turned out each day? 3A- [Weather permitting] Horses are turned out between 8AM and 9AM, and are brought in [approximately] 30 minutes before dark.

We also offer 24/7 turn out with run-in shed situations as well.

hello everyone, As always, thanks for stopping by the Iron Horse Stables, in operation via Rolling Meadows Farm L.L.C., blog to check out our farm and horse related content. There is a chicken coop on the farm.  Fresh eggs are being sold for $4/dozen.  To place an order, contact the farm manager, her name is Cheyenne, at 1 (860) 759-8362.  In addition to eggs, firewood (aged 2+ years), horse manure, and hay (seasonal) are being sold.  If interested, Rolling Meadows Farm L.L.C. will even rent out land plots for gardeners interesting in exercising their green thumb.  If it is a possibility, temporary dog and cat boarding, again based upon local law compliance, could be a future expansion idea on the horizon if there is enough of a demand.
